April 6, 2007, Newsletter Issue #58: Tool Time

Tip of the Week

A lot of Dad's out there are really into their cars and they have the saddest collection of old tools known to man. In many cases, there just isn't justification to go out and buy a brand new socket set, or tool set in a fancy new Craftsman chest, so Dad's just make do with what they have always had.

Maybe its time to give dad a gift that is both luxurious and practical, pitch in with your siblings and get him a new tool set or a hard to find tool!

* Start with a great tool chest, something with a lot of space that will allow him to expand his collection in the coming years, then get him the basics.
* Go to your local hardware store and get some advice but you'll certainly want to pick up a new hammer, screwdriver set, pliers, allen wrenches and levels.
* Add to that a full set of sockets, some good lighting and you have yourself a first class toolset.
* You may want to throw in a Monster Garage CD just to make him feel like he won all of it from Jesse James.
* If you can't afford the whole shebang, there are some creative alternatives. They have some really cool all in one kits out there that are also portable so can be great for a roadside emergency.

Either way, think about him and what he would enjoy the most and try to add some time in with your unique gift for him. Your dad will cherish the time spent with you as much as any gift you can give him.
